Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery

Dr. Michael J. Lacqua specializes in plastic and reconstructive surgery and has extensive healthcare operations experience. He has practiced for more than 25 years with a special interest in wound healing. At Richmond University Medical Center, he serves as chief of the Division of Plastic, Reconstructive and Hand Surgery; medical director of The Center for Wound Healing; and chief supervising hyperbaric physician.

After earning his medical degree at St. George’s University, Dr. Lacqua completed residencies at Nassau County Medical Center, University of Missouri Kansas City-Truman Medical Center and The Children’s Mercy Hospital. He did a fellowship at the University of Kansas Medical Center and earned his MBA in Healthcare at Quinnipiac University. He is board certified by the American Board of Wound Management, a member of the peer review panel for “Advances in Skin and Wound Care,” and a member of APWCA and AAWC. Dr. Lacqua founded and leads The Healing Hands Abroad Foundation, a nonprofit organization that provides specialty surgical care to indigent communities around the world.
