Charles Newman, MD, FACS

Charles Leatherbury Newman, MD, FACS, was born and raised in Alabama. He attended the University of Alabama School of Medicine and completed his surgical residency at Georgia Baptist Medical Center in 1995. Dr. Newman has instructed other surgeons on laparoscopic surgery techniques at various international conferences around the world, and he has published several articles on surgical subjects.

Dr. Newman is on the Board of Directors for East Alabama Emergency Medical Services Inc. and is chairman of East Alabama Regional Trauma Advisory Council. He has served as chief of Surgery at both Riverview Regional and Gadsden Regional Medical Centers. He has been involved in advance vein surgery and laser ablation since 2008.

Dr. Newman has practiced advanced wound care for many years and has served as the medical director for the Riverview Regional Medical Center for 10 years.
